Robotic hot-wire cutting(RHWC) utilizes a robotically controlled and electrically heated wire to cut through industrial foams, mimicking the geometry of a provided CAD-model. The process allows for efficient manufacture of advanced form work designs for concrete casting and foam based elements for industrial applications. This can be achieved at a fraction of the time and cost of currently available technologies due to the highly increased machining speed. Foam cut-offs and used form work can be recycled and used for new insulation products or form work material, allowing for a greatly sustainable production cycle.
